As wearable technologies and the concept of AR and VR take the world by storm, they redefine the notions of teamwork through virtual interactions. From the knowledge derived from this paper, it is rather possible to implement and integrate AR and VR technologies into remote teamwork so that colleagues who may be separated geographically can work together as if they are in a shared environment. Here, we outline the present state of AR and VR in professional settings, possible uses of the technology in specific sectors, and advantages and disadvantages crucial to an industry’s implementation of AR and VR technology. In this paper, we discuss general principles and near-future expectations of these technologies and provide several examples of their application that can enhance communication, encourage creativity, and boost efficiency. Based upon the findings of this paper, it can be concluded that both AR and VR stand the best chance of getting incorporated into the landscape of the remote collaboration tools of tomorrow with significant potential for changing the world of business and average people alike.
