Abstract :

This paper explores and defines the human spiritual potential by presenting a timeline of evolutionary breakthroughs leading up to the realization of free will. Starting with the restrictions on thinking independently of the scholastic dogma imposed by Roman law and the Catholic Church, this paper follows an unfolding of scientific discoveries and philosophical insights that allow one the possibility to experience free will. The 20th century witnessed an explosion of scientific discoveries that initiated a profound paradigm shift in our understanding of the relationship between humanity and the universe. Quantum theory reconnects our thinking mind with our human spirit by allowing for the existence of an intrinsic metaphysical force. Living as an awakened being with the awareness of this force offers the opportunity to evolve into a spiritual being with the free will to develop one’s human spiritual potential.
